Junior Product Developer – Has responsibility as part of the PD team to work towards time scales & deadlines. Ultimately to ensure that Proto samples and Sales Man Samples are received into the business in time for the seasons Range Launch

Product Technologist
Junior Product Developer – Has responsibility as part of the PD team to work towards time scales & deadlines. Ultimately to ensure that Proto samples and Sales Man Samples are received into the business in time for the seasons Range Launch
The main focus of this role is to provide support to the Product Developers and Designers to help them move samples forward from design stage through to Sales Man Samples. Sending technical comments on proto samples and Initial Sales Man samples. Helping to ensure that the quality & technical aspects of product comply to company expectations.
To help out in all areas of Product Development

Product Development
To work as part of the Product Development and Design team to help Create the best product
Setting up new seasons specifications for new design in accordance with the Designers and Product Developers requirements.
Updating Rangeplan information when changes are made to designs/fabric/sources etc and issuing emails to notify colleges.
To be aware of new fabric and trim developments and how it relates to the new seasons product.
Work closely with Product Developers to understand the process and individual product for each season.
Building a good working relationship with suppliers, understanding the communication limits with foreign suppliers and working out how to overcome these.
Set up spreadsheets and progress charts to ensure all product development processes are followed and the sample progress is tracked .
Logging in samples as they are being received and chasing in samples and components daily.
Being aware of the Corporate calender deadlines.
To have an understanding of how the Design, Buying and QC team work and how the Product Development process impacts on these departments.
To make occasional shop visits in order to stay aware of product and constructions on the market and feed back to team.
Help to get samples into the building for important meetings and preparing the samples and for these meeting .
Salesman Samples
Tracking Initial SMS progress to ensure that all samples are in for the seasons Range Launch
Contributing towards SMS comments and feeding back to factories
Helping to overcome any issues that arise when receiving Initial SMS that may effect bulk.
General
Sending parcels to suppliers as and when needed. Unpacking parcels and hanging up for Product Developers. Measuring garments as they come in and before meetings. Filing submits received on a weekly basis.
May be required to help out on other departments from time to time and do jobs outside the above job description
