DMCI and Design Futures Trend Boards - A Village Fete

Share |

Village Fete embraces new optimism and references idealised childhood memories of traditional village fetes held in the British countryside. This trend is a celebration, a position and an opinion. It embraces the visual culture of local craft and all things less than perfect in their finish - Village Fete lets localisation flourish. Traditional methods such as cross-stitch and long stitch will be favoured with muted colours emerging, stripes referencing tent tops and deckchairs and memories of 1940’s commercial illustration echoing in graphic environments.

Keywords: optimism -  local – imperfections - sloppy beauty - honesty
