Naiya Afsana means new story, a new beginning for third generation British Asians growing up in the UK. Young British Asians feel the need for a sense of belonging and are influenced by both western society and their eastern heritage creating a new culture that is a hybrid of the two. Taking inspiration form film, music, fashion and food, the need of belonging has created a sub-culture that hasn’t been acknowledged and through this board we have tried to show a collective understanding of what Naiya Afsana is.
