Making it: Fashion Design

MFN played host to the second in it's series of 'Making it' events at the General Store, Deansgate. Making it: Fashion Design involved a panel of local designers consisting of Upender Mehra, owner of Liberty Freedom, Steven Cheema, creative director of 48HRS and Leesa Bertram, managing director of Pretty Disturbia. The panel were questioned by MFN's Dale Hicks  about how they started out in the industry and how they have got to where they are today.

Manchester Fashion Network took over Manchester for the night in aid of Goal For South Africa, a charity devoted to creating a better life for orphans in South Africa. We teamed up with Chantelle Tagoe and Emile Heskey to create an amazing evening.

Karen Millen hosted an Exclusive Shopping Evening at their Regent Street store in London last night. With exclusive styling from the Design Team, guests were given top advice and styling tips. Also on hand was top make-up artist Jack Saundercock. Guests enjoyed the complimentary drinks and canapes whilst listening to the sounds of guest DJ Goldierocks.

DMCI and Design Futures Trend Boards

MFN have been conducting a live trends project with the Design Studies cluster from the University of Salford.

The brief instructed students to conduct and exhibit a set of thorough research. Once all avenues had been explored produce a number of trend predictions based on the research that had been collated.

The trends did not have to be fashion specific, the aim was to take into account global and local issues.
