We welcome Vogue.com Editor - Dolly Jones and GQ.com Editor - Andy Morris
Chaired by Ana Santi - Commissioning Editor - Drapers
- Dolly Jones – Editor - Vogue.com
Dolly Jones studied History of Art at Manchester University, before arriving at Vogue for three week’s work experience. Next came London’s University of the Arts Periodical Journalism course, during which she was commissioned to interview "someone at the top of their game" – Alexandra Shulman kindly obliged – and she was later invited back to take up a six month internship as editorial assistant of the magazine. The "Writer" job at VOGUE.COM came up in January 2000. A decade later – after breaking news every day, working with the Conde Net UK team to develop and expand the site to its fullest potential including cover archives and VogueTV, and being named editor in 2005 – she is now responsible for an awarding-winning website that boasts 1.2 million unique users per month and is the most fashion-forward and regularly updated fashion destination online. Vogue.com won the People’s Voice Webby award in 2005 and Jones was named Magazine Website Editor of the Year in 2006. May 2008 saw a relaunch of the site comprising fashion celebrity blogs, an unprecedented magnifying tool and increased daily updates including fashion and beauty news and jewellery galleries. Jones now manages the Fashion Channel of Conde Net – comprising the fashion pages across all the sites in the portfolio – and continues to edit VOGUE.COM.
- Andy Morris - Editor - GQ.com
Andy Morris studied English at Lady Margaret Hall in Oxford, where he also edited the student newspaper Cherwell. After graduating, he spent a year studying periodical journalism at London's City University. Following work placements at Dazed & Confused, Jack, NME and Mojo, he began freelancing for the style and music press, as well as working for the British Journal Of Photography. In 2004 he started as a work experience on the design desk at GQ. After time spent on both the picture and editorial desk, he was appointed features assistant on a six-month contract. He hasn't left since, having been promoted to features associate and then commissioning editor. Along the way he's interviewed everyone from Jack White to Chris Rock, including a trip to LA to visit the set of Judd Apatow's cancer comedy Funny People. Andy recently had his first cover interview published when he interviewed Russell Crowe on the set of Robin Hood. On the first of March, he was promoted to contributing editor and editor of GQ.com. GQ.com has on average 8,000,000 page impressions a month and 500,000 unique users.
