Henri Lloyd: Behind the Scenes of the S/S 11 Lookbook

Conceived and founded within my adopted home city of Manchester, a natural affinity with Henri Lloyd is inevitable. Inherently, unabashedly British from conception through to the present day, this brand has provided clothing which naturally thrives in our Northern environment- failing to falter from its establishment in 1963 to the current undeniably unstable economic climate.

Survival at this time requires a name which is trusted and loved, providing clothing which has been cosseted through the generations. With the crest instantly recognisable to the discerning shopper, this emblem of reliability, amalgamated with an unquestionably high standard of design and quality, has steered the brand around the rocky waters of the recession.

And, if our sneaky behind- the- scenes photos are anything to go by, the success of the brand will be further cemented. Staying true to the brand’s fundamental ethos appears to be at the heart of this fresh, contemporary British collection, whilst never succumbing to the trap of becoming staid and unexciting (a white trench coat and a navy pin striped blazer embossed with gold buttons are personal favourites for a day- to- evening light cover up, whilst a latte toned knitted waist coat and a stunning pair of jeans in a playful tangerine shade will most certainly be featured in my fashion wish- list).

The photos certainly reveal a part of the story of why the company has enjoyed such a lasting and loyal fanbase across both genders- never allowing itself to surrender to the tragically disposable culture of modern day clothing; avoiding novelty and gimmick within its campaigns( thus allowing the garments to speak directly to the potential customer, unobstructed by desperately attention seeking sets or impractical hair and make -up hoisted upon it’s naturally beautiful models) and maintaining impeccable standards all melt together seamlessly to form the British Heritage brand which so many have maintained a never- ending love affair with.
