D&G Do Apres Ski With AW 10/11 Collection
D&G accomplished a festive celebration of all things Christmas at Milan with their ready-to-wear AW 10/11 collection- conjuring up amorous images of a secluded chalets in the French Alps encased in a snowy winter wonderland. Obviously the collection was a little diminutive to bear the extremes of real winter weather but for sitting in front of an open fire sipping on mulled wine -a mixture of cable knit hot pants and mini-skirts, romper suits and knee-high mukluk boots and real fur on the hems and sleeves of jackets revealed scorching après ski sex appeal.

Plum and slate grey knitwear was assigned intarsia white snowflake and reindeer pattern repeated on delightful fitted Christmas sweaters, leggings and all in one cashmere body-stockings. Chunky oversize cardigans and knit sweater dresses were pulled in at the waist with simplistic black and brown leather knotted belts singing ding dong merrily on high to a trend that is destined to hit the high street en-mass.
Decked out in scintillating ski goggles pushed back on the forehead and scarves of colossal proportions adorning the neck – lots of leg was on show with short floating and layered chiffon skirts , floral patterned silk, leather and real fur hot-pants cleverly teamed with decorous knits carefully crafted into bustier tops and body-con dresses.
Alpine sex goddess took a turn to high snow priestess as the collection came to the finale with long floating chiffon tiered maxi dresses resonant of Victorian under garments. Worn with astute tailored blazers, fitted waistcoats and black bowed neck ties Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana emphasized a razor-sharp tailored imprint against the vulnerability of sheer fabric; satisfying all our quixotic wintery desires in an awe-inspiring collection.
