The End of Winter 10 Bread & Butter
Bread & Butter finished on Friday and once again the annual tradeshow was a fantastic result!
Professional visitors form over 100 countries used BREAD & BUTTER to kick-off their new collections and ideas for 2010/2011. The brand portfolio in the eight areas of the shoe, consisted of 600 brands, labels and designers, in the staging of the historical airport, set in new standards in a unique, contemporary textile tradeshow landscape.
The second edition of the “L.O.C.K. – Labels of Common Kin” has set a clear example. Here, altogether 70 brands and labels were presented, that set their focus on craftsmanship-based production techniques. Nearly all brands and labels have a great heritage, authenticity and high demands to the product. The newer brands and labels in this area also act on the same maxims.
Karl-Heinz Mueller, curated L.O.C.K, that gave top priority to the combination brands and labels, the design. The honest product with traditional production techniques has been a big trend in society. Many brands from this segment have recently succeed in the fashion industry. This created huge potential for the brands and labels and the retail.
Karl-Heinz Mueller said: “I am very satisfied with the result. Bread & Butter is a must for every retailer in the contemporary Urbanwear segment, as this years show has shown once again. At this point, I would like to thank all exhibitors and visitors!”
He also went on to comment, “Despite such success, we will not rest on our laurels. We will continue to stick to the overall concept and will improve the result once again in summer 2010, 7th to 9th July. We have already developed ideas and approaches to include and implement further potentials and market needs.”
The aim for summer 2010 is the following:
1. B&B Kids will actively focus on the topic kidswear.
2. Contemporary Sportswear - talks have been held with brands in this segment that are looking for more international exposure, with Bread and Butter offering this. Although Bread and Butter will take care that the brands fit in our overall portfolio.
3. L.O.C.K store - a store for the L.O.C.K. exhibitors will be generated. Karl-Heinz Mueller said: “In the L.O.C.K. Store, the exhibitors will be provided with the possibility to present the current fall/winter products together in an adequate surrounding. 14 oz. Berlin will be the curator. A sale is not planned.”
